AF...can it be all over the place?

Hi Ladies,

I got my AF when DS was 3 months old. I had one normal cycle (contraception pill free) which was a 30 day cycle and AF lasted for 5 days. My next cycle started one day earlier than normal (on the 29th Day) and I have been bleeding for 11 days! Sometimes heavy, sometimes light and then almost going and them BAM! Heavy again? Is this normal? Are your cycles a bit unpredictable after having a baby? I was always 5 days but then again I was always on the Pill and don't have anything to go by as I fell pregnant first cycle, had an early MC and then fell pregnant again straight away with DS!

Any advice is appreciated!

Blondie I'm finding mine is all over the place....I got mine when DS was exactly 4 months old. I had a 30 day 'normal' cycle, then a 21 day 'light' and now... well I'm still waiting at 32 days (!?) I'm hoping it settles down soon x

I am still bleeding and its quite heavy, I called 13HEALTH and they told me to go to the emergency room and get a referral for a Gynaecologist but I already have one I see so I am going to GP today and then GYNAE tomorrow. I am not sure what is going to happen from here?

I hope your AF gets a little more regular for you!

Wow I think we might be twins.
I got AF when ds was 3 months old. Was a completely normal cycle (5 days of bleeding, 29 day cycle) I then got AF again which went for 25 days of bleeding (due to a bladder infection) was on anti bs to stop the bleeding and get rid of the infection, a few weeks later I got my period again and it was the normal 5 days. I also fell pg first time, miscarried and fell pg again with ds, it is completely normal for it to be all over the place but it should slowly get better over time.
