Does anyone know anything about de Quervain's tenosynovitis?
I was told today by the dr that that's what's wrong with my left wrist. It started about 8 weeks ago, making it difficult for me to grip, lift, grasp - general use of my wrist. It makes it incredibly difficult to lift, feed, carry my baby.
Does anyone have this? Or know any more than wikipedia can tell me? Basically, I've been told to immobilise my wrist with one of those wrist guards (which I can't afford as we are flat broke), and basically not use my wrist. It should take 6 weeks to heal.
My DH had a mild case of this for a while when DD2 was little. I was busy having carpal tunnel problems of my own at the time, so I didn't really pay it too much attention. I think he managed to sort his out by positioning his arm/hands differently when he was doing stuff (like holding DD) and it just kind of went away.
Is there a physiotherapy service at the hospital where you had DD? Maybe they could help you out with a wrist guard?
