    Bowling?

On Thursday & Friday I'm going to an overnight work conference in town. I just received the agenda, and it includes 10 pin bowling between the Thursday conference & dinner. I then got an email from our regional coordinator saying I've been put on a team, but if it's a risk to me or bubs I can sit out.

To be honest, I didn't even think of that! I just saw it and went Woohoo, bowling! Lol. I figure bending may be a bit of an issue, but I had a go with my office door shut and it's fine, hehe. And I'd get a small ball, but is it likely to strain anything? I figure if it doesn't feel right I'll stop, but is there any reason I shouldn't even try?

    Thanks

I went bowling at 38 weeks, I was fine. Had a light ball etc. TBH I actually found it really awkward to get my arm around my belly lol looked like such a gumby. In the end I used one of those rack thingys that you just sit the ball on top of, line it up and push it down the ramp lol was a novelty and good for a laugh.

have fun on your retreat, sounds like fun.

Oh and another thing, make sure you are really carefully not to have a foul (foot over the line) because the lane is very slippery, last thing you want is to stack it.

Hehe ash, that's why the door was shut and I made sure no one was coming

Thanks for your replies girls, I'm more than happy to give it a go, risk looking like a totally uncoordinated git, and most definitely will be avoiding stepping into the lane

I did bowling in a league when I was pg with DS. I stopped at 33 weeks because it started hurting me - Felt like I was carrying a bowling ball under my shirt and in my hand!

But definitely do it! It'd be fine

i went bowling when i was pregnant with DS, and the only problem i had was lifting the balls, cause they were really heavy, and what with no tummy muscles, etc..... i just ended up getting one of the really light kids balls! have fun with it!!

I've gone bowling throughout all of my pregnancies and way into the 3rd trimester. The worst thing that ever happened to me was a broken thumbnail.

Enjoy your retreat & 10 pin bowling

Ooh yeah broken thumbnail, I get that every time! Thanks for the reminder to cut it

Sounds like I'll be all good - the organisers are a guy and a young girl with no kids, so I guess they just weren't sure and thought they'd better ask.

Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to going now, even though I'll probably look ridiculous lol
