Help me channel my inner Domestic Goddess?!?!?

    Hi ladies,
I need some inspiration and motivation! I have 2 days off this week while DD is in daycare, and as much as the idea of curling up under the doona appeals to me, I am sick of never feeling like I am on "top" of ANY aspect of domestic life!

So...what hints and tips, mantras, goals etc do you use/set yourself in order to get through heaps of housework (stuff I've been putting off, and putting off).

The stuff I have to do includes tackling mountains of clean washing (folding, ironing etc); decluttering clothing, paperwork and other "stuff" that I've been accumulating; cleaning fans, window sills, blinds etc; sorting DDs old clothes and toys and throwing out anything I don't want to keep for this baby; cleaning out fridge and pantry and there's also some stuff outside the home (taking receipts to medicare).

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I may not be the best person to help LOL buuuut....

    1. Write a list of rooms
    2. Write down what needs doing in those rooms
    3. Get some vinnies bags sorted. Also rubbish bags
    4. Sort the washing baskets first- see if there's anything in there that's going to vinnies. Anything that's not, is saved for ironing
    5. Make yourself a cuppa. Don't drink it in front of the computer
    6. If you feel up to it, drink the cuppa while sorting paperwork. You know it'll only take 20 minutes.
    7. If you ended up sitting in front of the computer while drinking cuppa, do paperwork now.
    8. Now sort out DDs stuff- things that are going to vinnies.
    9. Pantry and fridge.
    10. Hubby can do fans and blinds etc!!!! He'll feel useful and you're pregnant and shouldn't be getting up to do those.
    11. When you're taking stuff to vinnies, go to medicare, after you've been, grab a magazine and go sit in GJs and have another cuppa.

In theory it's all very simple. Maybe you could write a list for me???

I get on the phone. The monotony of housework does my head in, so I wander around with my cordless phone and chat to someone. Before I know it, I have put away dishes, gathered up rubbish, put on a load of washing etc

I also find having something else to do helps. So book yourself something for the afternoon, then set yourself a reasonable to do list that you want to get done before you leave the house.

CHeck out The Organised Housewife on FB or SimpleMom (Tsh Oxenrider- author of Organized Simplicty)- she has a daily list that you can use as a guide with some great hints! I also find once I start I keep going so I tell myself I will just fold the washing and once that is done I am usually in a zone and find other things to do.

Thanks so much for all the advice ladies - although, turns out I now have DD at home with me with (as daycare so eloquently put it) "loose bowel movements"...am praying to still have a day off to myself tomorrow...

I like all the ideas suggested so far - lol, will have to have a think and pick one - trying to do all of them I might fall in a heap! hehe.
