Medicare Safety Net

Does anyone know if you have to apply for this every calendar year or is it once you are on the system, you are on forever?

I've never reapplied.

You only register once. Thereafter, each year, once you have reached the safety net, you will be notified by Medicare.

Hmmmm you may want to check this. I had to reapply this year after reaching it last year. I was told it wasn't automatic.
