    Skinny leg jeans!

What's your thoughts on this particular fashion trend? Is it here to stay? On it's way out?

For young and old? Or just the younger crowd?

I tried some on over the weekend... I sort of liked them but my two shopping companions (my most trusted, honest critic (mum) and the one who loves me and thinks I look hot in pretty much anything (DH)) weren't convinced.

Mum said she just isn't used to "the look" on me but Dh eventually said he thought they weren't the most flattering...

I had a pretty tight top on, the sales chick said you need a looser top on so that it balances the tightness on the bottom.

I just really like the idea of getting some funky boots and showing them off with the jeans. Also the jeans I tried on (Nobody - thanks for the tip Nai!) were really comfy!

So what's your take on this trend??

    i realy dont like them!
i prefer the hipster flare sort of jeans from face off, tight around the top but lose and covering my feet/shoes at the bottom. just my opinion tho!

i used to not like them until, like the shop assistant said, i tried them with longer or loose fitted tops. now i LOVE them! i wear them with my Hunter red gumboots and just love it lol!

my favourite brand (if that's what you can call it haha!) is actually the $29 pair i got from BigW (I KNOW!!!). it's crazy! they are the ones that are on the shelves and i got the skinny low rise ones and they look AWESOME! i prefer them over my other more exxy brands!! crazy!

I never participated in the skinny leg jean trend. I only follow fashions that flatter my figure and since I have a butt that would give Sir Mixalot wet dreams skinny leg will never work.
I don't recall seeing much skinny leg in the pictures from the northern hemisphere fashion shows lately but that might just be because I'm not interested so I block it out.

If your DH was brave enough to say that it didn't suit you and your Mum didn't fancy the look then maybe you need to pass them by. If you want to show off your funky boots you can do it with a skirt.

Sarah, I think the style you're talking about is so flattering. I love them.

I have a pair hipster skinny legs...which I love in winter with boots and a big jumper but I have really skinny legs and they kind of make them look like tooth picks My DD borrowed then and I didn't see them for 3 months
I prefer a hipster boot cut jean.

I like skinny leg jeans. I have a pair of Bettina Liano that I have had for 2years. I wear them in winter with boots over top and in summer with a nice sling back heel. They look great out at night if you want to dress them up and also for school pick up with a pair of ballet flats and nice top. Very versatile!
A GF of mine just got some great ones at Cotton On, they looked really hot! She is your classic pear shape and they really flattered her figure. She said they were on $50 so she got a couple of pairs in different washes.
I don't think you can go wrong with a pair or two in your wardrobe

I like them, I think they help to balance out float tops well.

As for them being on the way out, I really don't know. They still seem to be around a lot but there's also more wide legged stuff around to. There also seems to be a big shift away from denim and towards trousers.

I like the look of skinny jeans but I'm not the hugest fan of jeggings, I think they look better worn as tights under long tunic styled tops and shorter dresses.

I like them and I am the type of person who will wear something I like and that suits me until I get sick of it - who cares about what is in (but that is just daggy me!) I find they suit my figure better than other jeans and make my legs look longer. I also like that seem dressier to me than other jeans - especially black ones. I have a pair of black ones as well as a $10 pair of dark blue from Kmart. Super stretch and comfy!

i agree with the sales chick - you need a loose top if wearing skinny jeans. Everything looks too....confined, tight if top half of you is wearing a tight top too. I love a loose baggy jumper, flat boots and a pair of skinny jeans....comfy and stylish...

Love them! I have 6 pairs hehe. They can be very flattering on certain body types, especially dark blue ones.
The super skinny ones from Cotton On are awesome, lots of stretch and only $40. I reckon they fit better than my Sass & Bides and Tsubis which both set me back $200+ each.
Skinnys, band tee, cardy and flats is pretty much what I wear every day

ETA: my 57 yr old mum wears black ones sometimes, not the super skinny types just slim fitting but they look awesome on her, very slimming.

The next season still has loads of skinny and straight leg jeans so I think they will still be around for a while (insider knowledge )

And yes you do need a looser top over them

Skinny legs are around to stay I reckon... they have been around for about 6 years already!
I have one pair that fits right now, but pre-preg all my jeans were skinnies except for one bootcut pair. Looks awesome with most things and sooo much better in winter for wearing with boots!!

Investing in one good pair of skinny legs is a good idea if you feel comfy in them!

I love skinny leg jeans, they're the only jeans I've really worn...that's probably a generational thing I also (pre-preg) wore skinny's, a band tee and cardigans as a staple...again, probably a generational thing

Another skinny leg jeans lover here. Love love love them - so comfy and stylish. I dont know about the 'too old' part of your question but i'm 30 too and am definately NOT too old to be wearing them! Maybe at 60 you should trade them in for the elastic waisted type but i'll let you know what i'm wearing at 60 when i get there

Skinny legs IMO are the only jeans that look good on me. I love wearing boots over them in winter and also agree with loose fitting tops look much better. But unfort since having DD i find them waaaay too uncomfy maybe because my hips are wider and im carryin baby weight still.

I have bought one pair from Kmart and one from Target and they both sit up a bit higher and don't show my crack which I like and provide a bit more coverage which I like. They are both stretchy fabric too which I like. Worth a try on I think - I never thought they would suit me either being a bit bigger and short but now they are my staple.
