    I Need help!

I have insulin resistant PCOS and over the years have suffered symptoms on and off.

I have been going to the gym and watching what I have been eating (not that well at times) but generally pretty good for 5 months now. I go to the gym at least three times a week and I walk occasionally too. Exercise is not the problem.
I CANT GET THE FOOD SORTED!!

Now my symptoms are definately coming back again. If the irregular insanely heavy periods didnt give it away then the moustache and beard was a dead set wake up!

A low carb diet is my best option thanks to the insulin resistance but it comes off in such miniscule amounts and I get so disheartened and give up!
And I get bored with all the veges cause I am not the biggest vege fan anyway.

I have been looking at possibly taking metformin as I have heard it is good for resistance but havent discussed anything with my Dr and im still BF so im not sure if I can even take it.

It just sux! I dont want to give it all away like I always end up doing because I have lost 8kg and 47cms so gym is working but the weight is like trying to move concrete! Thats not even the recommended "safe" amount of half a kilo a week. I still have at least 20 to go and even then I would still be considered overweight but at this rate im gonna be a smokin hot 50yr old! No offence to any smoking hot 50 yr olds of course I just want to be a little younger

Anyone have any ideas I am ready to try nearly anything

I couldn't not read and not reply. I wish I had some other ideas to help, I'm sorry.

Good work on losing 8kgs and 47cm! That's awesome!

    Big hugs.
I hope you can get something sorted that works well for you.

I can't help you with the PCOS but I am diabetic and took metformin while breast feeding. Hopefully someone will be by to offer some advice about the PCOS.

i have pcos and insulin resistance too, i am on metformin (also took it in my pregnancies), but they advise you don't take it when breastfeeding, having said that there are probably women out there with diabetes who have to take it and are breastfeeding, maybe chat to your dr and see what they think

Please excuse my ignorance, but would you consider talking to a naturopath in conjunction with your other doctors? I found that I felt so good when following some guidelines from the naturopath. But I don't have PCOS...
Hope you find something that works. But keep your chin up - you're doing so well!

    Hi Feijoa Mum,

Sorry i cant help you at all but i just wanted to say i hope find something that helps you in your quest to loose the 20kg. Congrats though on loosing the 8kgs and 47cm that's awesome - you should be very proud about that.

I've got 10kg to go myself (i've lost 17kgs since having bub) but this last bit seem's soooo hard to shift I probably shouldn't have eaten those chips on Tuesday.
