My sister-in-law has recently gone to the doctor about back pain she has been getting, she shruged it off for a bit thinking it was caused by her boobs, and tryed a fitted bra hoping the suport would help, but it didnt, the doctor sent her for a mri (?) and has diagnosed her with Scheuermann's disease.
all that she can find on it is that it causes hunch backs and can not find anything else on it that is helpfull.
she is 17 and scared as she can not find anything on it, any help would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance.
Scheuermann's Disease, like many other diseases, has a large variance in the severity between cases. There are treatments available, depending on how bad her case is and what her symptoms are. She really needs to go back and speak to her doctor to get her answers questions. Perhaps you could go with her, and take a list of questions so you don't forget to ask anything that is concerning her?
I recently had a CT scan that determined I had old but well healed Scheuermanns disease. As far as I know its a spine deformity that happens in childhood. i think it's a genetic thing. I also have scoliosis, I believe it's all related.
Best she see's her Dr or a specialist. Hopefully it's mild.
thanks ladies, she is going to see a osteopath(?) today, and is armed with the questions she wants answers for, her dad is still adiment she needs a reduction and thats all the problem is tho, so hoping hes not going with her!
Trav, thanks for the link it helped her ALOT.
