I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child. Also that we live in a very disconnected society in general, where the village has fallen apart in many instances.
It wasn't meant to be each to their own, in the walls of their small boxes, facing similar challenges...alone...

Anyway, I have recently come across two movements that I think are a great idea and aim to rebuild the support

www.mamabake.com.au
where a group of Mum's get together and have a big cook up, taking home a variety of delicious food for the week. I had actually started a vegetarian "food group" Village Food last year and it went really well. So anyone interested in this in Perth PM me and everyone else, check out Mamabake.

Also, for those who don't want to collect things just for the sake of it and would like to share the things you have check out The Sharehood Another awesome idea. Surely not every house needs a lawn mower!

Hopefully these two links will be helpful to some. I'm sure there's more... Any ideas about how to find your village?
