    Fainted in the shower....

I don't know whats wrong with me lately.
I scare so easily, someone has to just walk in the room and I jump.
Been having really bad nightmares, waking up screaming and tend to thrash around alot.
Having a few panic attacks, as well. I just start hyperventilating all of a sudden. I just feel scared for no reason.

2 nights ago DP and I were in the shower which we tend to do a bit. Saves water.
Anyway, we were just chatting and I felt a bit sick and I slumped against the wall DP held me because I started swaying and he said my legs just gave out underneath me and my eyes rolled back in my head. I just remember opening my eyes and I was laying in the bottom of the shower. DP said I was only out for a few seconds but he was freaking out more than me. He was shaking. I was bawling. All while we're sitting in the bottom of the shower. Fun stuff.
He made me go straight to bed and I was sleeping shortly after.

Any ideas as to whats wrong with me?

I'm a bit worried but its scaring DP more than me.
And with him fighting PND I don't want to scare him at all.

I've also dropped a few kg in the last 10 days or so. My engagement ring stayed on quite nicely and its just sliding off now.

Generally I feel OK in myself, apart from when I have panic attacks.
And I'm sick of the nightmares.
But fainting was a new a one.
And the weight loss. Which I'm happy about, I needed to lose a few kg from having DD.

    Any ideas, ladies??

I think you need to get your thyroid checked. And make sure you're not anaemic. Can you get a dr appointment soon? Hope you feel better soon x

Sounds like anxiety. Given what you've been through in the last year, it wouldnt surprise me if you have PND/ PTSD. I think you need to be assessed for it. The amount if stress you've been under will have burnt out your inner resources. I know of a couple who both got severe PND after a traumatic birth. It can happen

The other thing I'd look at is your level of essential vitamins like iron, b12 and zinc. During pregnancy and birth, you transfer most of your nutrients to bub, so they will be depleted anyway. On top of that, the stress will keep depleting you. I started taking zinc everyday after our ds was born to combat both the depletion from pregnancy but also to deal wirh shock and anxiety.

I recommend seeing a naturopath if you have access to one.

Are you on any new medications? Maybe its worth a trip to the Drs & getting some blood works done. Maybe you are low/High in something? Best not to just take guesses at what might be wrong & just go get yourself checked out. It sounds pretty full on for both you & DP at the moment.
Hope you can figure it out.

Just tried to get a dr appt. No doctor. In the middle of changing over doctors and its a real dilemma. (visa trouble, I think)
There may be a doctor tomorrow so I'll try and get an appt then. But, being Tuesday they won't do a blood test....

    Small towns suck sometimes.

I will go get a blood test. DP has been on at me to get one.
And we both have discussed PTSD, and I read on a gastroschisis website that some gastro-parents do get it.

    Thanks guys.

Give them a ring and get an appointment for tomorrow and see if you can have your blood test today.

I hope you are feeling a bit better today.

To get an appt tomorrow, I'll have to ring up tomorrow. There's only the answering machine (that doesn't take messages, just has a message) today. There's no way I could have a blood test today with no doctor to authorise it.
So, I'll ring up first thing tomorrow morning. But, again being Tuesday, the doctor will be in a neighbouring town in the morning and will come to this town in the afternoon.
They don't do bloods in the afternoons. Only mornings.

See why I hate small towns!?!?

Its normally 32kms, but with the flooding at the start of the year we have to go another way. Because 1) the pipeline burst and the road is completely gone in one spot and 2) a lake has formed in the valley in another spot. They pumped the water away and it came back. Road probably won't be open for 12 months or so.
The other way is about 45-50kms.

I'm still on my L Plates (cause I'm so lazy and don't fill out my book.) so I can't drive there myself and DP can't get the time off work.
So, I'll just have to wait until Wednesday.
