I am due to have my fourth bubba sep this year and want my tubes tied. I plan to speak to the ob at my next visit and hopefully be put on a waiting list. Will they still do it if I am breastfeeding bub? How ling will the hospital stay be?
My friend had her tubes tied when her baby was 9 months old.. It was a day stay and she was home that afternoon.
I had mine done when I had my c/s so I can't help you with the bf side of it.. Same with my friend she wasn't bf so there were no issues there
but I think if you have a general you would need to pump and dump for a certain amount of time. your Dr should know this.. But (correct me if I am wrong) you can get this done with a twilight sedation? I am unsure if you need to be fully knocked out.. Maybe request an epidural ?? that way you don't have to worry about the drugs in your system kwim?? people have epis during labour and still BF so it shouldn't be a problem for this
Bumping for anyone thinking of this in the future. I got my tubes done just over 2 weeks ago and am breastfeeding.
I had severe letdown delay for 24 hours. It was quite upsetting to me and DS. Normally letdown is 30sec's to 1 min after he latches. It took over 15 minutes. But, 24 hours after surgery, everything was back to normal.
