what toys and things would you pack for a flight Melbourne to London?
I am going to include some small books that we were given as a gift and trusty Sophie, but what else would you say is a good toy/entertainer for the flight???
We went to the UK in October last year. We took some new toys that she'd never seen. Books, keys, mobile phones etc. Things that your DS might not necessarily get to play with normally. We didn't take any noisy toys though - didn't want to disrupt other passengers.
We also found that there was quite a lot to keep her entertained anyway - she played with the plane menus for ages Easily amused is our girl
Oh i wanted to know this too, we are taking DD from Sydney to Perth in October and she'll be about the same age. Also how do they go with the altitude and their ears popping?
In regards to ears - boob/bottle/dummy for take off and landing - once up in the air they should be fine.
We travelled to the US when DD was about 10 months and found that she actually slept for most of the time. I did keep her up a little bit before the flight and that seemed to encourage her to sleep. I took some books and a couple of small toys and that was really all she needed. It is a great time to travel as they are generally not walking which makes life a lot easier.
The last time we travelled to London DD was about 22 months and I have to say our iPad was a life saver - we got her child specific head phones and downloaded Wiggles/Dora/In the Night Garden episodes, plus she has a couple of her own apps on there. Again she slept a lot of the flight, but she loved being able to watch her own things. We also packed some puzzles and colouring books/crayons that time around.
Have fun! Hopefully your little man will be like my DD and be lulled to sleep on the aeroplane.
