I took my mum away to a health spa type place a few years ago in the Gold Coast Hinterland and there was one there.
I assume I am thinking of the same thing - but I might not be sorry! They had these bath type things with a lid and there was warm water that had heaps of salts in it - same thing i hope lol
I really was looking forward to trying it but I had shaved my legs that morning - and the salt BURNT my legs so bad - I tried to ignore it as much as I could but I ended up only being in there 10 minutes.
My mum did it for the full hour and loved it - she still talks about wanting to go again because of that thing.
I enjoyed the massages much more
Not much of a review sorry - just dont shave the day of
That's the one I've been reading the site and it says they provide Vaseline to rub over any small cuts, I wonder if that would've helped? I'll remember that though, I wouldn't have thought of it!
Apparently it gives you the same kind of benefits and relaxation as 4 hrs deep sleep. The epsom salts would also draw toxins out from the body and promote healing.
At the moment I'm just interested in nobody talking to me for an hour!
Had one when I was 4mths pregnant with DD. They call it a flotation tank
It was very very relaxing. I went in totally nude and the water is lovely and warm. You shower before you get in and then when you get out.
It's like going in dome (like the ones you see on top of cars carrying luggage or whatever only much bigger and metal) and they put the cover over on so you are in darkness. They have little light switches in them in case you get frightenend. Not reccommended if you are claustrophobic!!!
It's a funny sensation, the high salt contentt makes you float when you lie down and relax. I was in one for around 45mins which was plenty for me.
The point is to switch off your mind and relax, I almost fell alseep.
It was something I had always wanted to try out, I liked it, wouldn't rush back and do it again. I had a massage after as well, it was heaven
I had a session in a floatation tank years ago (they were very big in the early 90s) - I thought the water was too shallow and I kept bumping into the side as I floated around - I found that quite distracting. I would certainly try it again.
