What kind of mattress protector to use?

DD1 (2.3yrs) will be moving into her "big girl" bed in the next 2 weeks and im not sure what the best waterproof mattress protector to use is - theres so many on the market and all proclaiming to be the best and its doing my head in - shes not TT so will still be in nappies but i want to get a good quality one now so when i do start TT its all ready to go.

Can anyone suggest what you've used and what worked best (and what didn't!!)

    TIA

I bought a waterproof one from target as I figured easier to get waterproof 1 so we have it when TT also protects bed from spew or runs if they are sick.

Aldi also have incontinence pads which I put on DS1's bed (we originally bought it for our bed in case my waters broke!!!) and it's just half the bed. I think they have them this week just gone? About $15 so you can get a couple and then we lay them over a waterproof protector
