    Easter???

Just wondering what other mums and dads have planned for there lil tikes for this Easter?
I've got each of my kids an easter egg, the one that has the smarties in them so not a real small one but i don't want to fill my kids up on chocolate but feel i don't have enough for them.
So what are others doing this Easter? Thought maybe having an Easter party with friends over so all the kids can get together and play and have fun. That's got to be better than just eating chocolate all day right?

we've bought a kinder chocolate for DS (the 3 pack of the small bunnies) & a pack that has 3 'in the night garden' figures (to have a non-chocolate gift because i think the grandparents will all be buying him at least a small chocolate).

we usually see our parents/families on days like easter so i'm guessing we'll be doing some visiting around DS' midday nap i enjoy that side of holidays - catching up with & spending time with family.

I'm buying DS a little egg and a train to go with the Thomas train set we got him for Christmas.

I buy my niece and nephews those smaller Easter bunnies and a book - yep. I'm the mean aunty who buys books XD

We usually head down south for Easter and fish, laze around and eat too much food in general

We are going away camping with some other families and my parents, we have done this every year for about 15 years! We have all grown up and had kids of our own... Sunday morning there is a massive egg hunt, well 2, one for the little kids and one for the big kids (us).
So the kids get a small bunny and egg from the Easter bunny as they wake up and a book small token gift from us. There is FAR too much chocolate, but it's stacks of fun and we take some of it home with us and have it over a few weeks!

The Imagination Tree: Paper Mache Easter Egg

We'll be going with non chocolate celebrations of being together and imagination!

Im getting my DD a bunny charm for her Pandora Braclet, and mabey a small egg, I dont really think she needs chocolate at this age, and more then likely when she goes to xdp's mums house on Monday she will be stuffed full of it even tho I have expressed my feelings countless times about junkfood!!! I know afew people have got her a book so thats nice

We are doing a big Easter Egg hunt with all the kids in out group of mummies, just having a BBQ and yummy food the older kids will do the hunt. Then Easter weekend is just family time

Friday - Easter Festival that our playgroup is putting on, so a mix of kids and parents, Egg and spoon races, craft activity, Easter Hunt (not all treasures will be edible), shared lunch. I've made felt finger puppets for all the kids, as my contribution to the Hunt.

This is our first Easter as a separated family.
i have bilby for Saturday and Sunday. I have a small chocolate bilby for her, which i'll hide in our backyard, along with maybe a book and a pair of trousers (with fairies on them).
For the very first time i'm thinking of making homemade hot x buns. I'm not very good at cooking with her around, so i have this as an aim, can't commit to it.
i'd like to make home made chocolates in moulds too, having trouble finding the foil papers to wrap them up in, but i have one more shopping day to hopefully sort that out. Gee it's hard to find cooking chocolate that ISN"T made by Nestle (!!).

i feel like i should take her on an outing either Sat or Sun, unsure where. If i'm still undecided, i'll take her to a playground instead.

her dad has her for Monday and Tuesday.

bilby won't get heaps of eggs from relatives, cos we just don't have them (relatives), but i suspect her father will give her a fair bit of choc.

Gigi, do you have a spotlight near you? They have the wrapping foil. And our local large health food store sells cooking choc that isn't nestle.

DD1 has 2 sets of pj's (giggle and hoot from us and In The Night Garden from my parents), a peppa pig plate, bowl and cup set with 2 small eggs, and some small smartie filled eggs that we can make last so she doesn't stuff her face with choc in one sitting. DD2 has not a thing as she is too young anyway. I'm hoping the plate set will inspire DD1 to give up her straw cup.

thanks Sammie Jane, i do have a Spotlight in driving distance, just in a direction that, going to Spotters would be the only reason i would drive that way. prolly too late for this year, but good to know for later.

i looked at the fairy pants i was planning to give bilby, they're a really thin summer cotton, and big, think i'll put them back in the present box and give them to her for xmas instead.

the felt finger puppet rabbits i embroidered for the kids at the easter festival today, (as part of their treasure hunt booty) went down well.

tomorrow i will attempt to make hot X buns with bilby, she loves cooking, i'm quite anxious cooking fullstop, let alone with her, but will make the effort, for her sake.

people actually complimented me on the cornish pasties i brought for shared lunch today (i only learnt how to make them last week, and froze a batch).

We've got DD a few little eggs that we can put in a basket for her. We're also going to do an Easter egg hunt, just around the house. She loved collecting shells last time we went to the beach, got right into putting them into the bucket, so we figure she'll have some fun finding the eggs and putting them into her basket.

My DD is 8 and we have always done an easter egg hunt with just little eggs and given her one bigger egg. She remembers the easter egg hunt more than anything so I think we will be doing that for ever

We are going to do a hunt with Miss E - this arvo after her nap. Was going to wait til tomorrow but we are now catching up with an aunt from Queensland at some point tomorrow and i don't want to have the sugar high and sleep refusal thing tomorrow to turn her into a nightmare - at least in the arvo she can run it off outside with Daddy lol

we have some little eggs (which we will all share) and a white bunny and a normal egg. I have sensitivities to preservatives in easter egg chocolate so I have always had easter eggs broken up and given in small amounts over weeks and weeks so DD will be the same

the "making hot x buns with bilby" blew up in my face. it took 7.5 hours - we started at 11am, finished at 6.30pm. we were both so exhausted and irritable and grumpy. i had never cooked with yeast before, had no clue how to activate it. not the fun activity i thought it was going to be.

the next day (Sunday), bilby loved the Easter hunt in our backyard. can't read her new book to her until Wed now cos she's with her dad for Mon and Tues.
