    What's your uptight behaviour?

I'm halfway through my lunch, and can't finish because the aircon's just turned off so the office is quiet, and I don't want anyone to hear me eat

Do you have an uptight behaviour that people laugh at but you just can't help yourself? or do you have a tip for me? I'm starving!

I don't like to poo in public toilets or when I visit other people's homes.

I can admit to both of these.

Kekie, grab a yoghurt or an Ice cream. Silent sweetness, lol.

Or head outside. World never just shuts up, hehe.

I thought it was normal too until DH ridiculed me because I wouldn't use the facilities at the ILs place (which BTW are right next to the lounge room )

Ohhhh nasty, I would never be able to use the toilet. I hate going to hotel rooms for that reason, coz you can always here the toilet! I plan ahead, and turn on some music about half hour before, so Professor won't hear me and also won't know that I'm actively disguising the noise.

Have you ever seen a picture of Roman loos?
    They're a timid tinkler's nightmare.

    Yep, same.
when people hit their spoon or fork on their teeth when they eat.
Yep, same as well as chewing with their mouth open.

I think there are a couple more but I can't remember them at the moment. Lol.

oh, i hate that too! i can feel my blood pressure rising when i hear it i usually have to walk away.

i agree with the poo thing as well - i think that's normal! although i used to have ibs & had to overcome my fear a bit because sometimes there was just no escaping it.

according to DP, i blow my nose in a weird way. i'm not sure i can explain it - but i don't really just wipe across after i blow my nose, i sort of do each nostril individually. argh. this is just sounding weeeird now

I like a quiet start to the day. Really can't stand radios or TV being on. Tough these days with kids, it can often send me mental. I am one of those people who like to get into the office early, I have my little routine and I get really antsy if someone comes in early who normally doesn't. I left a really good job as the new Financial Controller would ambush me the moment I walked through the door. He would send me a heap of emails overnight and have them all printed out ready to discuss. All I wanted was 5 minutes to turn on my computer, make my cuppa tea and check my email.

I am also with the poo thing. Not too bad in a hotel room, but do struggle in other's homes. DH, well, he will go anywhere.

Yep, have to feel secure to go to the loo. Pet hates are loos, even for pees, where locks aren't the normal bolt across one. Fancy shmancy little clippy dial things where you can't see it's actually locked, send me off2. Sometimes, I walk out with legs crossed.

People who print off multi page documents, leave them on my desk AND DON'T STAPLE THEM.

I remember the first time DH took me to meet his family, we stayed with them an entire Easter long weekend (in fact we got there on the Thursday) and I didn't poo once! took me about a week to get back to normal in that department!

    Great thread!

    Yep the poo thing definitely.

People seeing me eat. If I have to I pull it apart and put tiny bits in my mouth rather than opening my mouth up wide.

People walking behind me. Not out in public - more in like an office situation or something.

People chewing on wood (like popsticks).

    Shoes on the carpet.

    Spitting.

Ok yes maybe I am a bit uptight hehe ....

Brushing my teeth in front of people! I dont like people seeing me spit. I just can't do it. I had a partner force me to do it once, I hated it.... and I remember having to brush my teeth in bed when I had my appendix out, I asked the nurse to close the curtain thingo so I could brush without people watching lol.

Snorting when they have a cold... the sound of mucus ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

    Eating with mouth open....
