Wear it. It is really quite important, as sucky as it is, you need to wear it. And yes, I have had to wear them!
Im not sure if this is in the right section, so please move if you need too!!
I have had a operation on my leg to remove a big ugly vein from behind my knee, going down my leg. I had to have a bandage on for a week, and had the stiches out on Wednesday. Now im sposed to wear this compression stocking during the day for about 6 weeks. It goes from my foot all the way up my leg, diaganol from just above mid thigh on the inside, across to my hip and theres this strap bit to go around my waist!!! it is sooooo uncomfortable and awkward to wearIt cost so much money and it sucks! you cant wear anything over it coz its tight to just above the mid thight then my thigh bulges out over the top! it looks disgusting, even under clothes!
Okay rant over, what I wanna ask is has anyone else had to wear one? Did you hate it? Why do u have to wear it? what will happen if I just leave it off?
TIA![]()

It sounds to me like the sock doesn't fit right. Compression stockings should be firm but not tight infact, you can do more damage than good by persisting with them.
Yes it is important that you wear it as it helps keep fluid moving up your body rather than pooling in your feet and also stops those nasty veins from reappearing.
Go to your nearest "aids and appliances" shop and get them to fit you for a larger one if possible.
