Question 16mnth old crying & looking terrified when someone touches me

For the past month or so my 16 month old DS cries and seems really distressed when ever someone touches me. Like when we have relatives over and we say hello and give a hug or a kiss, he bursts into tears crying "mum mum" and it takes him quite a few minutes to calm down.
    Has anyone else encountered this?

My DD1 was exactly the same at that age. I was pregnant with my second at the time and doctors appointments were a nightmare because of the meltdowns when i was examined. Good news though, she has grown out of it.

Yes, oh my goodness, my two are famous for this :/ For my girls, I think it's a jealousy thing - if someone else is talking to me or touching me (especially in the case of DH giving me a hug and kiss when they're in the room), it means my attention is not 100% focused on them and they freak. DD1 is pretty good with it now (although she will still occasionally come and push herself in between DH and I when we're having a cuddle), DD2 will be 2 soon and still hates for anyone else to touch me as it means she can't. I'm hoping she grows out of it like DD1 did Good luck!

Thanks girls Neither of my other 2 did this so it is completely foreign to me!
