    Toddler and gastro?

    Just gastro or something else?

My 19 month old had what I put down to gastro over Easter. Was a bit strange as it wasn't that he just full on vomited for say 24 hours and was then over it but instead he didn't vomit that much but it still lasted 5 days. He would vomit and then be okay for maybe 12 or 18 hours and then would vomit again and then go again for another 12-18 hours without vomiting and then would go off again. It basically went from Tuesday night/Wednesday morning until Sunday morning.

We put it down to extended gastro as both DH and I were also sick though ours only lasted 24 hours.

All has been good since then until this evening when he chucked up again he had his tea and his bottle before bedtime. Would this evening be a once off or should I be watching out in case it is something else. Got him checked out by doc last week in case it was ear infection that was causing the vomiting but was all clear. He didn't have anything unusual to eat this evening to cause tonights vomit and if it was on its own I wouldn't think twice but just wondering given what happened at weekend!

Any thoughts or ideas or just one of those things?

Is someone around him when he does vomit? I ask because my DS started to push his fingers so far into his mouth on purpose to make himself sick. he then got so good at it all he had to do was a kind of fake cough and it happened. Mind you he was acting out at the time because our DD was just born.

Is there any particular pattern to the vomitting? Like is it after he has eaten and had his bottle all the time?

DS2 has vomited 5 times in 24 hrs. 1st at 0100 yesterday had a bit of bf then chucked slept till 0700 bf chuck. 1800 woke up and then I put him in high chair thinking give him dome toast as hrs since chucked and he vomited again before I even made toast and again at 2100 then at 0045. Before each he is coughing.

Otherwise been fine in day bit more sooky and clingy but playing well scooting around floor on bum and fighting with brother who vomited 2 times last night also would cough then vomit.

    Hi

UsPlus2 apart from when he threw up in his cot I've been there so its not a pushing fingers in his mouth thing that is causingthe issue. Last night it was just as he finished his bottle which he has before he goes to bed and about hour after he has had his tea. He'd eaten quite a bit for tea so might have been that he was overfull? He's been fine this morning and had both brekkie and milk okay. Just didn't know if it meant gastro hadn't gone away when it happened last night or if there was something else lurking around that I should be looking out for? Only had gastro once before when he was six months old and it too lasted for about week!
Feeb we've had coughing cause cause chucking as well when he's had a bad cough. I'd find myself holding my breath if he started coughing after having something to eat saying don't chuck don't chuck - lol!
