    Am I pregnant...low hcg count

    Hi everyone,

I have taken a number of pg tests and all have come back with a faint line...but still a BFP?!?
I had a blood test which came back with 31HCG and my doc said its still above the pg threshold but a low number.
Im having another blood test on monday.

Can you have a look at my chart and tell me your thoughts??
Also we are trying for a girl...does it look like we BD on the right day to increase our chances?

    Any advice is appreciated!!

    Hi saramac
I dont undertsand a lot about those charts and attempting gender selection, Im sorry. But I do know that any HCG level over 5 is considered 'pregnant'. The HCG level its self needs to double/ triple every 24- 48 hours, so one HCG reading wont give a very accurate result iykwim. It may be low but if it is meeting that quota of increase it should not be of concern. HTH

Hi Saramac and congrats on your bfp! You are definitely pregnant and as Lilydust said, it's more about the number increasing etc than ther number itself. My first hcg with my DS was only 33 and he was fine I had much higher numbers with my angel baby last year. Sending you sticky vibes xo

my DD started out at only 17 or 27 (can't recall) but it's more about how they climb. one test isn't enough - you'll need more tests to confirm what the hcg is doing now

I had a HCG level of 72 at 6weeks and am now 22weeks, so low HCG doesn't mean anything as long as it is climbing well

    Ok now Im confused...

My Doc called with the results of the latest blood test and it is only 32 still. It was 31 four days ago...so its not looking good.
But why would I have that level in the first place if its not increasing?

I havent got my period. I only had spotting twice about week and half ago and I thought that could of been implantation?

Doc said if I havent got my period by end of the week then to redo blood test.
He said its still possible that it is a pregnancy but it may have not implanted yet?

    Im not hopeful though....

    Any thoughts girls?

you poor thing, you must be so confused. I *think* its the corpus luteum that creates the HCG level until the placenta is able to take over that function but I have no idea about not having implanted, I dunno if that would create HCG if the blastocyst hasnt implanted I dont want to be awful and upset you but you may be pregnant but things arent dividing how they should be iykwim. With my first bub, HCG level stopped rising properly at 5ish weeks but then started going along perfectly at 6.5 weeks, bodies can do such weird things, especially when they are trying to hold on to that bubba! Im no Dr, so as I said, obviously he has ALOT better idea about the implanting and HCG. Hope you get the answers you want soon, hun

With my DD the bHCG levels were only 29 at 15dpo - after 2 strong positive HPTs lol - and she's now 5wks old I had to get a follow up bHCG the next week just to make sure the levels were rising as I have a history of miscarriage, but everything went perfectly and it was just that she had implanted later than normal (around 10-11dpo) and my HCG levels were on the lower end of the spectrum (with my DS they were pretty much average).

I hope everything ends up alright for you *hugs*
