    Angel Care Baby Monitor

    Morning Ladies!

I hope I have this in the right spot... couldn't find any "electrical" type threads anywhere...

I have an Angel Care Sound and Movement baby monitor(the one with the movement pads) and recently the hand piece has stopped charging in the cradle thing-a-me. I thought perhaps it could be that the batteries needed replacing, which I did (with another set of rechargables, obviously) but it's still not working.
Has anyone else had this problem? If you did how did you fix it? Or is it a gonner?
Its only as old as DS (maybe a couple months older as you tend to buy things in prep for the little buggers!) so I'm going to be totally PO'ed if it's shat the tin.

Thanks for any help, or suggestions! xx

Ooh! I had the same problem!! We worked out it was the power cord between the wall and the recharger unit. We went to **** Smith and bought a universal adapter, where you can change the voltage coming through. It cost about $28 and fixed the prob. Just do check that that is the problem though, by getting the one from the baby unit and plugging it in the parent recharge unit and check that it actually still recharges.

If that is the prob, just be sure the take the piece into **** Smith/whereever so they know what you mean.

    I hope that helps!!

Aha just saw the auto naughty check is at work. Naughty shop names... Actually I just remembered I saw them in Woolies too but I'd trust the specialty electrical store ones better

I could totally kiss you right now!

It charges fine plugged into the baby room part of the monitor so it's obviously that chord like you said.
So weird tho that it just stopped working all of a sudden as it'd always been plugged into the same place with that same chord that it came with?

I know, we were so relieved the whole thing wasn't a goner as they aren't cheap!
Yeah ours did exactly the same thing - one day fine, next day kapput. I see you got about 16 months out of yours - we got maybe 20 so they must have a not very good life, which is a tad annoying.

This has happened to ours and I rang the distributor (and have to chase up again! thanks for reminding me! to get a new recharger) and she said that there is a circuit breaker inside the charger itself so if there has been a electrical charge (don't know the correct term but you know what I mean) come through it can have burnt out the circuit breaker.

Interesting Winter.. I take it you have to pay for the new one or are they replacing it for you? If you are paying do you know yet how much it will be?
