Interview at hospital for Post Grad job today, sooo nervous!
So as the title suggests I have an interview for the post grad intake in August.. All things going well though with Button, I should be about 15wks pregnant by then so I wont be able to take it, but I still think it's great practise. My interview is at 12.30 today and I dreamt about it last night non stop then have been up since 6am!!!
Interviews were held yesterday as well and a guy in my class went and he said it was a challenging interview. Lot's of scenarios, lots of questions on diabetes, scenario's with patients, their condition then he had to prioritise.. Anyway I have refreshed my memory on diabetes, I know the procedure for chest pain and a code blue, I'm trying to think what else I can research to be prepared. I just don't want to overload my brain, in case I have a massive brain fart and forget EVERYTHING!!!!
I don't do interviews well, I just get so nervous!!!! Send me lots of luck and if anyone reads this that has done an EEN post grad, any clues on other questions they might ask me??
I don't remember that much about my postgrad RN interview but I know aswell as the scenarios they asked about occupational health and safety as well as conflict with other co-workers. I've always been asked in every interview about these two things.
Best of luck. I bet you will be brilliant! Its great experience.
Wowwwies congratulations! Thats awesome news - Even to get an interview is fantastic! Well done!
Breath, the interview process isn't as scary as they sound (So i was recently told on prac)
Use common sense :-D Was the most important thing I was told :-D
I had a terrible thought though (and feel free to ignore it coz it may not happen), what happens if they ask something about some other disease/disorder/codes?
BUT I have no doubt you'll be on top of it! How exciting!
I have heard from 2 people now that have been interviewed that the questions are on: Diabetes, chest pain, code blue procedure, prioritising pt's according to condition and conflict between colleagues.. I assume they will be the same Q's for me.. I hope so anyway!!

yep i agree with this, i have also been asked ethical questions ie you patients family want to visit but the patient doesn't want to see the family what do you do ? but yeah you will probably get oh&s, emergency, how do you deal with an aggressive patient etc
I just got an e mail from an agency that I applied at last week and she said my Director of Nursing where I work gave me a glowing reference!! Woo Hoo, that means she would have given the hospital the same!!!
Yep, got all that. That's the easy part.. I was just scared of being given a scenario with a health condition I'm a bit shady on lol.. Or having a total mind blank on something easy like what's a code blue.. Imagine if I couldn't answer that!
