So I decided to give naprogesic a try again (tried it many, many years back). I had myself on the pill for a while to avoid getting af over the easter weekend, and I was spotting on and off for days then finally got af on Saturday last week. Took the naprogesic Sat, Sun, Mon - great, very little pain, but bleeding seemed less 'steady' than normal. Box says not to take for more than 3 days so I didn't.
Now here I am 7 days later and still bleeding! And, cramping, alot now - which is not at all normal for me. Normally cramping is day 1,2 and possibly 3 - usually af last 4, maybe 5 days, never this long. I have really bad bowel pain, shooting pain down my left thigh, pain in left ovary (had a choc cyst drained on left ov nearly 2 years ago and lots of endo removed).
Anyway the point to this thread.....
Naprogesic says it works by stopping the prostaglandins that cause the contractions of the uterus to push the blood out - so do you think it therefore slows the flow down and thus has extended it out by several days?
Do you think my symptoms are related to the naprogesic or the pill, or a coindicence?
Or maybe it's the evil endo coming back?
I've made a docs appoint for monday because my symptoms point to ovarian cancer, bloating, nausea, diharrea, change in periods, etc, etc. but then they also point to endo - but just want to go incase.
I don't usually take the pill regularly - and yes, took it to delay af....I suppose it's the symptoms that I am getting that kind of scare me a little bit as I haven't felt like this before....lots of wind, wind pain, bladder pain, bloating, back ache, nausea, diharrea, etc, etc......
And no, I'm not a troll looking for attention just incase anyone's wondering haha.
If you don't normally take the pill, generally speaking when you go off it, you get an extra week of bleeding, which would explain your extended AF
Definitely get the other symptoms checked out though...
