A question about my cervix - TMI

I'm 27 weeks today. I had an appointment with my midwife yesterday and she said baby is head down but not yet engaged. This evening I felt some pressure in my vagina (like I felt with my DS when he was engaged) and thought I'd see if I could feel what the pressure was. I felt my cervix and it is very soft and lower than it has been. It feels like lips (and slightly more open than normal) rather than a 'nose' like it used to.
Is this normal at 27 weeks? I do get lots of BH and some more painful cramps that come and go but nothing different to my other pregnancies.
Do you think it's anything I should be concerned about?

When's your next appt? It's certainly something I'd keep an eye on although some people can be a few cms dialated for weeks.
I was told yesterday morning about 1am I wasn't in labour cervix was high and closed etc only for 4 hours later be 4cms dialated and having my boys.
Moral to that story: trust YOUR body!

If you feel it's something to be concerned about visit your dr. Sending hugs and fingers crossed it's nothing and bub keeps baking

Thanks MrsS. My next appointment is in a week and a half but I might just phone my midwife JIC.. Just to ease my mind!
