Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good state primary schools on the Gold Coast (central areas, from Southport to Robina -ish)?
We are moving there and our DS will be starting school. I wanted him to go to a private school TBH, but I didn't realise what the waiting list situation was like. Having got 5 emails back now saying there is no way any private school has any place for him, some not til at least 2015! We need to find another school.
If anyone has kids going to school there, or has heard good or not so good things about schools I would love to know, to add it into our pool of information to try and start deciding!
I have a few recommendations for varsity lakes but not sure where that is compared to where your looking, stepmother is a teachers aide at one school and a fellow kiwi has her kids at another. Let me know if this area suits and I'll ask them what they ate called.
I'll be needing to choose a school for my DD on the Gold Coast soon too as I'll be moving there hopefully before the end of the year
My twin sister sent her kids to Labrador primary & they loved it (the kids & parents) they have a pool in the school grounds for swimming lessons etc which the kids loved. That's the extent of my knowledge. I do have other friends there but their kids are in the private schools which you've already said the list is too long.
Good luck finding a great school for your DS..... he may end up in the same school as my DD!!!
Finally got the chance to talk to my step mum, she works at caningeraba primary school. She also mentioned kings christian were advertising last week for enrollments (private)
What she wrote - Oh haha...Varsity College is absolutely amazing! The grounds, teachers, kids, area and parents are great. People try and move in zone just to get in this school as zone only. It's like a private school (but state school) and very interested in the future. I don't really like Robina High...I had a look online at the individual reports of Miami, Mudgeeraba and a few others (both Junior, Middle and Senior)..None came close...VC is a big school though (biggest in Qld)...So if they like smaller schools maybe another?(check online though)... When you in area as soon as they see both compasses (junior and senior) they probably would know straight away how good this school is and would probably try and find a place in zone...Sorry I'm just very in love with this school lol...
I've just moved from melb staying in labrador & tryin to find a reputable primary school for my son who starts next year. can anyone suggest any. prepared to move for right school. thanks
