    Fleas?!!?!!

    Hi all,
I have a dog, she's almost 2, about 4 months ago she got flea's, I tried using exelpet flea powder, on her and her bed and all carpet, worked for a day or so but they came back, worse.
Next I tried the same brand shampoo, same story. Then I tired their flea liquid that you put on the back of the neck, didn't work at all.
For my old dog I used Frontline plus, so I got some more of that and tried it and it's still not working and they are getting really really bad.
Any tips on what I can do? It's driving me and my DF crazy!

    TIA

We fed our dog garlic and it worked.... you'll have to flea bomb the house and bedding though, or wash the bedding in that shampoo

What kind of garlic? Like straight garlic or heavily garlic infused food?
Might have to give that a go. They are starting to bite me heaps (not my partner though, typical)
    Thanks for the advice

Our dog got infested really badly this year with fleas, mostly due to the high humidity and Frontline stopped working for us too. We went to the vet and bought a product called Comfortis which is a once a month tablet that kills all fleas on the dog within two to four hours and lasts one month.
It is quite expensive- about $90 for six months worth, but I get bitten so badly by them that it was definitely worth it.
You should also treat their environment, but I found the Comfortis helped with this because any fleas that jumped on the dog met with a pretty quick death.
The downside?? Goodness knows what sort of chemicals I was pumping into my dog by using this tablet- I used to joke to DH that he was radioactive! but it does work......

mrslancer, you don't need to take the dog in (which should save you from having to pay for a consultation!!! phew).
Comfortis is only sold from Vets apparently, but it is an over the counter product.
