    im thinking an allergy...your thoughts?

firstly we have SEVERE allergies in our family so we have always been really cautious about what we feed DS etc and have made every effort to introduce all high allergenic foods into his diet early so there will be no shock to his immune system.
initially when starting on solids he came up in hives from dairy and egg but after introducing slowly in small portions he stopped reacting to both, this was before 7mths.
since having gastro over easter he had been coming up in eczema type rash from his formula so we put him on lactose free formula until his gut rebuilt its bacteria with the help of baby acidophilus in his bottles.
HOWEVER since having gastro hes had 4 separate nights where he has powerchucked this funny smelling puke at least once and spent the rest of the night gagging bile, had a bloated and sore tummy etc. not to mention his poos have been this awful green colour with what looks like undigested (curdled) formula in them and smelling REALLY BAD!!! the only common denominator seems to be his bottles. he had not eaten any foods the same or anything. tonight after powerchucking once (in the car 45min from home ) i gave him a bottle of normal formula (not lactose free) and hes just spewed all over his cot
the weirdest thing is it has not been 2 nights in a row, he wakes up fine albeit tired in the mornings....

im having the thought that maybe hes allergic to something else other than the lactose in the formula... any ideas what it could be?? suggestions/help/ANYTHING is welcome since i am at am absolute loss.

No idea! If he is throwing up from the normal formula and lactose free is may be something in the formula as you said, but was he on it before easter? It is strange it just developed if nothing Is new in his diet!

Sent from my iPhone so sorry for the spelling and punctuation!!

I'm with olive on that one, milk protein sounds like the most likely suspect to me.

How long ago did he have gastro? I know a friend's baby developed an intolerance to lactose after having rotovirus badly but he did grow out of it eventually as his gut repaired.

I agree with nai it's probably happened because if the gastro but I think it's the milk protein he is reacting too not lactose. Maybe try a soy formula as it won't have the milk protein that is in the lactose free ones.
