what can i doto fix this?

Before I even did it I knew it would be risky... I put the material baskets to DS's crayola art station in the washing machine , because when we moved the removal men put it in the yard and it was soaking wet and filthy when I finally discovered it two days later...

So i unscrewed the station, took out the material pieces, that also have cardboard in the base to keep the shape and support the baskets... and put it in the machine because i didnt have a brush to hand clean them... Well

The paper crumbled. turned all lumpy and is still inn the bottom of the baskets all deformed

How can i fix this? cut open the material and pull it all out? I dont want them to be unusable....

What a moron huh? Atleast they are sparkly clean though....

any ideas

Can you replace the cardboard base and re-sew it up?
