Sleepy - I feel terrible - I didn't send you and Elijah get well vibes! Totally forgot about the fact he's a little sickie atm. Hope he's doing better. And yeah, what's Scarlett Fever???
Tina - That will be one huge party! Make sure there are lots of pics on fb to see!
Brisbane girls - We really have to organise to meet. I don't have a car during the week but would offer my place? Otherwise we could try for a weekend? I would love to meet you all!
Scarlet fever is a disease caused by infection with the group A Streptococcus bacteria (the same bacteria that causes strep throat).
He has a red rash on his chest and shoulders. sore throat, sore ears, runny green nose, cough, fever, and headaches. It isn't nice. HE has been ahving amoxil 3 times a day, and isn't better yet, but is much better than 2 days ago.
Thanks for the get better vibes JLeigh.
Marni - A Brissy meeting would be great, we just have to find a spot that everyone can get to and isn't too far for us all...lol, thats hard, but if we choose a spot I'm sure it'll all be ok...
Tina - John and I are still discussing if we should come out on Saturday - we know its going to be freezing and now Cooper is sick too, he isn't at daycare today, and I really need a break, Elijah didn't sleep very well last night either, I think he's teething at the same time, as his back gums are white and swollen
We haven't even done the cake for Elijah yet, as he is still sick and hardly eating, he is drinking his bottles tho, which is good. We may do that on Sunday night, hoping everything is back to normal. I am struggling at the moment, with lack of sleep, and feeling very tired so don't have much energy to do my housework. So everything is suffering. And now my oven broke - so I'm not sure when that'll be fixed either
Well I hope you're all having a better time with things than me right now, but I know it'll pass quickly...lol
wow - SLeepy - you are doing it tough! Its no problem if you cant come out - your coming out in June anyway stay home and rest if you can...stupid oven!! hope you get a new one soon. I didnt have one for ages but I'd be lost without mine already lol
brissie meeting - it doesnt matter to much where it is as for me it will be a 1.5hr - 2hr trip anyway...lets organise this thing!! maybe do a fb msg if all the brissie girls are on there - its a bit easier then one at a time writing on here, well, i think it is!
Apparently I have just been mesaged to say we aren't aloowed photos in our signatures anymore....whats the deal with that? Pfft I just deleted the whole ticker Thats not fair
Sleepy - I got the pm too. Deleted my whole ticker as well, was just easier. I hope E is better really soon! I'm sorry that you are having a rough week. With the oven I think they have to fix it asap, cause it is essential. My realestate had ours replaced in 2 days when it broke. Good luck though!
Tina - As for the meet I can travel to Brisbane but would have to get dropped off about 7am and I can only do that Mon or Friday. I am at Morayfield but that is a long way from you guys. Otherwise I have the car on weekends no problem. I think there is only you, me, Sleepy and Jleigh around Brisbane too.
I'd love a Brissy meet up! I'd offer to pick you up at Morayfield, Marni, but that won't work with bubs and car seats! Morayfield works great for me as I'm on the Sunshine Coast, but it might not be so good for others. I can probably work it in most days, though Mondays aren't that great. If you guys organise it on fb, just let me know!
Sleepy - hang in there, things can only get better for you!
Tickers - yeah, there was a thread a few weeks ago. Basically, some photos are upsetting some people so rather than have to check everyone's, it was decided that no-one can have photos. That's why I changed mine.
Grrrrr - A very loud courier delivery guy just pounded up our steps and woke B! Ah well, he had to walk through about 5 spider's webs to get here, so that makes me feel better! Gee, now I sound like a horrible person, don't I? That's the worst thing about having B's room right at the front of the house - we thought it was a great feature having the 'kids' rooms at the front and ours at the back when we bought the house, but now, not so much, lol!
Activities with bubs - What kinds of things are you doing with your little cherubs (besides pulling them off furniture and out of bins, lol?). We basically cuddle, play 1000's of variations of peekaboo/hide and seek (inside and on the deck), read, sometimes attempt drawing, walk in the pram, wander around the garden (or stand on the street waiting for cars to go by!), watch the birds (he's obsessed with our birdlife), occasionally watch Toybox on TV and sometimes play with his toys (which means he throws stuff, I duck ). He rarely does much independently (a bit of dusting, his fave or plays with his ball popper). Other ideas would be much appreciated!
Zen is sometimes great at playing alone, other times just hopeless. He has a big box of blocks that he loves to pull them all out of. he has two activity tables, one in his room and on in the lounge so walkking between teh two to play them he enjoys. he loves to throw little rocks into a bucket of water (although this isnt a non-supervised activity obviously!)
I've got a palypen so sometimes he is in there with some toys while I do washing etc.
*what about making some playdough? he'll prob eat half of it but apart from the salt it wont hurt him.
*a roasting dish & wooden spoon make a fun drum kit!
*dustpan and brush keep them occupied and its just the right size for them
signature - just got my msg. There was alot of issue with this when I was in the TTC after m/c or loss thread. images that are beautiful to the parent but very confronting to others were not allowed and it was causing dramas. oh well, most of you are on my fb and get to see plenty of Zen.
JLeigh - if you look at Zenography on fb you can see some pics of Zen
visit - i am pretty much free anyday. we just need to work on a locality.
Phoebe likes:
-stacking cups
- the bathroom cupboard (not so fun for me)
- playing with puzzle pieces
- the trampoline (supervised of course)
- blocks
- little people Fisher Prices
- xylaphone
- prams and babies
- Tupperware shape-o if you help with the right hole she can put the pieces in!
- singing and reading (espeically touch and feel books)
- Musical toys
She pretty much just potters around and plays with bits and pieces. I try to remember to stop what I am doing and play a game or read a story with her. She loves to play outside so once Tiana is home we go out and play on the swingset and trampoline. She is even happy to play with the pegs if I am doing washing.
Jleigh - If you are worried about him eating the play-doh google 'no-cook playdoh and make your own. It is really easy and at least you know what is in it. You can even add pasta, sand, glitter etc for different textures.
Sleepy - I could catch the train! I didn't even think of it. If I went that way though it would need to be a Monday or Friday cause Tiana is in kindy the others from 9-3 so I couldn't make it to brisbane and back otherwise.
Elijah likes to play with pots and pans and the wooden spoon, he also likes the pot lids too. Or whatever toys are lying around. He isn't allowed in the bathroom cupboard as there are roazors and perfumes and poisonous things in there. That door always stays closed....
I have a place in mind for our meeting..tell me what you think...

Let me know what you all think and we can book it.........just have to choose a date I guess...lol
Phoebe has another Double Ear Infection!!! I am really starting to think that I am doing something wrong. Buggered if I know how to help her!! The dr has put her on a 21 day course of AB (not penicillan) and I have to go back in a week to make sure she is improving but we are talking about an ENT. I really can't afford to go private but the wait list for public is just too long. But I guess we will just wait and see what these AB will do before making a decision.
Ok, vent over and I feel a little better.
Sleepy - That place seems fine but it would have to be either a Monday or Friday.
Awww poor Phoebe...Elijah is still sick too, but ear aches are worse...poor girl.....I hope she improves soon, my younger siblings all had gromets put in, way back when, they all had terrible ear aches all the time, and once they had their gromets put in they were fine....
tina - Does this place suit you? Is it easy for you to get to? And what day would suit you?
Poor Elijah is still sick too, altho the rash has cleared, he is coughing at night now, refusing to go to sleep, can't breathe thru his nose, and its hard, but hopefully he will get better soon.....
I don't think we will be making it out this weekend Tina Its going to be freezing and Elijah is still not well enough I'm afraid..I'm quite upset too, I was really looking forward to catching up again too
Well if we all pick a date, I'm sure we can make a whole day of it, but if another place is wanted to meet, then we can keep looking ?
