    Mid-day Nap, bottle then poop, comments on how to change sequence

    Im hoping that this is a no brainer and someone can offer advice on what to offer, but I seem to be at a blank.

    I have a 16 month old that, although recent, for some time now has been doing the following;

    has lunch at about 11is am,
    about 11:45 has a bottle of milk and falls asleep usually on the bottle (for mid-day nap)
    approx 1 hour later wakes up to take a poop.
    If caught in time, will roll back to sleep if I assist him, and will usually sleep for another 45 min.

    What I was hoping to do was offer something that will encourage him to take a poop before the nap or offer a new technique to having a bottle then being settled off to sleep with a nappy change that isn't too 'exciting' if you know what I mean.

    I also have a toddler that sleeps in the same room, who usually wont fall asleep until he falls asleep, so I need to keep the 'action' to a minimum.
    Also the diet is OK. Ive tried a number of things already to encourage a poop earlier, but nothing seems to make any difference. Its just that warm milk that does it (at the moment) and the poop is in average conditon (ie not hard etc).

    Any tips/advice?

    Can you offer the bottle first, then lunch?

    Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!

    I haven't tried, but some time ago I stopped giving an afternoon bottle as he wouldn't take it anymore. I think he associates the bottle with sleep and refuses to have milk (unless its the morning one) he's going to bed. I realise this is my own undoing, but, it works.

    I was thinking along the lines of warm water with a bit of sugar, but the warmth is a bit of shock to him and refuses to drink it, seems to believe 'hot, hot' (very cute when he says it) even though its not. So he gets that its water, but its not his regular water.

    My other son was like your ds Mum2Romone, and to a certain degree still is now. But, I just can not understand why ds2 is doing this. It wasn't always this way, but seems to be recent.

    For anyone who happens to read this... It turns out he is teething with molars. So he is pooping all the time with a red bum and more recently the night wakes also. Someone hand me some toothpicks!
