I'm interested in doing a belly plaster cast this time round!! I told DH that I wanted to and he thought that I was crazy and said that I didnt understand the whole concept of a plaster cask. DH thinks that I need to stick my belly in a box with the material in it so then we can get a mould created and will view it 'inside out' kinda thing... I told him NO that you get the stuff and put it right on your belly, let it dry and then take it off!!
Anyways, he still thinks I'm crazy and asked what I would do with it?? :rolleyes"
So who out there has done a plaster cast of their belly?? Did you buy a 'kit' or did you just make the stuff up yourself? What did you do with your belly cast - is it in full view for everyone to see or put in a room only for private viewings??
Heheheheh, afraid to say I'm with your DH - saw the kits advertised and couldn't for the life of me figure out what you'd do with it afterwards? I guess if you're artistically inclined you could turn it into a garden figure or something, but would be interested to see the responses
If we ever manage to have a 3rd I'm going to get a kit. With DS and DD being 9 and 5 I think it would be great to do it with them, then let them paint it.
Another reason I want to do it for the 3rd is because it would be my last baby and would like to have a token of my pregnant body.
We are planning on doing one as this is our first child.. After its all done, my uncle is going to paint a small painting on it and I guess we were thinking about hanging it in our nursery on the wall..
I had to show DH a video on youtube of one being done so that he got the idea.
There are some really nice paintings on belly casts that are on google!! I would be keen to paint something on it but not sure what it would be of..... I was thinking of hanging it in the nursery or in our bedroom away from peoples eyes.
I wish I did one for DD so I can compare them both!! Oh well, cant turn back time now can I?
