    When was your last haircut?

When was your last haircut ... at a hairdresser ... that you paid for....

Im curious because ... My last "paid for " "hairdresser " haircut was when I was 21... and my Nanna bought me a voucher.....

Since then I have procrasinated so much , First I grew my hair long down to my butt, It was beautiful for our wedding when I was 23...

But then I decided I wanted it chopped off...
So since I cut my brothers hair and DH's I started cutting my own...

And its been ok.... I now cut DS's too (DH gave me the idea because he would only ever want me to cut his hair.. everytime he went to a hairdresser they never cut it the way he wanted...)

But I was just thinking its time for a haircut, and I think I may break my record, and pay for it myself.....

I dont have the paitence , and I dont want to clean it up either

How much does a haircut cost these days?

Depends where I go..I alternate between my two hairdressers. At a salon I pay $100 for a cut and color at 'my lady' who works out of her garage I pay $80 for a cut and color.
I alternate as the lady who works out of garage may not always be available at the time I want nor sometimes is the hairdresser I usually go to. A color and cut normally takes me about 1.5hrs so I try and work around when I don't have kids and DH is around.
I can go to 'my lady' in her garage anytime, so I usually stick with her most of the time as long as I can get hold of her. Her garage is set up like a salon, proper chairs and a sink.
I have just had a dramatic cut to very short from shoulder lenghth

Every 12 weeks i get mine cut by my hairdresser. I get roots and foils...and with or without a cut its $120. (i have fairly long hair). I didnt cut it for ages - because i love long hair. But it was looking very ratty, and with all new hair coming thru due to babies/pregnancy/breastfeeding, my hairdresser cut a good length off - its never looked healthier.
I must admit, i hate getting my hair cut - the thought of my long hair getting shorter makes me rather anxious, but i can now see the results.
Last year, i booked in for a cut at a hairdresser i had never been too....they charged me $65 just for a cut - not a style - i have dead straight long hair....shop around....

hmmm November for me I think. I colour my own, as the cost here is kinda out of our budget. Last July I forked out $200 for cut, colour and 6 foils...and that's standard in this town. $50 is average for a cut (trim), style cut is extra as are washing and blowdry.

About 6 weeks ago (8 months for the one before that), it was about $45 for wash, cut and blowdry. Not bothering with colour these days.

March, before that I don't remember. I have long hair and I don't like it being cut at all. Even a trim I make sure they only take 2mm off and it takes me a long time to trust a hairdresser to cut my hair.
I go every 6ish weeks for re-growth + foils + tint and it costs me around $120. Most cuts are around $40ish for women, but it does pay to ask BEFORE you book

I get mine cut and styled every 5-6 weeks and have for years. I get all my waxing done while I'm there so I guess you could say it's my 'pamper time'. Mine costs $130 for cut, colour (& wash), blowdry and style. I have chin length hair at the moment but the price has been the same for years, even when my hair was long. I have a really good relationship with my hair dresser though.

I had mine done 2 or 3 weeks ago. For half head foils, an all over colour, trim and blow dry I paid $75. My hairdresser costs about $20 for a trim.

I can't believe how much you guys pay for foils

I get mine cut about every six weeks. I had it done last about three weeks ago. I have quite a short concave bob so it needs regular pruning
My hairdresser charges $40 for wash, cut, blow dry and then straighten. When I was getting it colored/foiled she charged $90.

She's pregnant and due in august. Crap knows what I'm gonna do when she is on matleave!!

I had mine cut last August (2010) and before that it was my wedding in March 2009.
I wish I could afford it more often but the budget doesn't allow.
My last cut cost me $20...My hair is about waist length and has been for years.

my last major cut was 2 yrs ago this coming August. I had middle of back length hair all the same length and went it and asked for it to sit on shoulders. It sat just below my ears. Since then it has had 1 trim, which was sometime last year. I took two of the 3 kids in the other week and asked if they could fit me in, but they were fully booked. But I didn't bother making another appointment.

Little Miss Summer, and anyone else, who has the opinion "the short hair cut is lower maintenance", i have some questions (been thinking about going shorter for a while).

    - i thought short hair cuts needed more hair cuts, as they "grew out" quicker. or does that only apply to heavily graded cuts? (sculpted).

    - if you have short hair, how to get it up, out of your way when it's the 40 degree plus weather.

    - can a short hair cut and being able to hide your ears, co-exist? Or does having a short hair cut mean your ears are impossible to hide?

    - if you know a bob cut does not suit your face, what other short hair options are open to you?

i've asked these type of questions to hairdressers many times, get fobbed off with "it's up to you, you just say what you want done". What i really want is advice from them. Once they work out i am not a high end spender, i get the disinterest.

I've had shoulder or a bit less length hair for decades, always able to ponytail it when i needed to. My hair has gone all woolly and horrible, sometimes i wonder if having a quite short haircut, would improve the hair. I miss having nice hair that moved as i walked, and felt nice. i now understand what is meant by "your crowning glory". My hair was the one thing i had going for me. Why is it i only appreciate it, now it's gone?

Last one done at a hairdressers - maybe three, four years ago? I tend to cut my own hair I was going to do the Worlds Greatest Shave at my baby shower for Ianto, and my mum lopped off a huge amount of hair in preparation for it, but obviously that never happened...
