I've heard a lot of people say that Mo, that they've struggled in either high school or primary school. For us too, my niece is seven months older than DD and there are lots of things she can do that DD can't do (as expected), but if we sent DD to school as a four year old, the two girls would be in the same year level. So seeing DD develop differently to my niece makes me even more convinced that we need to hold her back a year. In saying that, there's plenty of things that DD can do that I'm told isn't the norm, but then what is the norm when it comes to kids!
DS1 is enrolled in 4 yo kinder in 2013 (ie as a 4yo but I never thought of enrolling him in 3yo kinder that year). The decision to skip kinder next year was made only because we're going back to Sweden next month for 1-2 years and won't be back next year anyway and our situation will br somewhat complicated by the different learning philosophies of the two countries. In Sweden, they start school later and learning is play-based until 9 or 10- and I wonderhow they'd re-integrate into oz, where they get homework quite early in primary school.
Anyway, this thread is about kinder, DS1 has been enrolled in 3, for 2013.

Tanya how's Barney doing & how is your DS1 coping with his little bother?
MG hope your going well
Hope everyone else is doing well also.
We had our scan & Bambi is perfect in every way.
It was worth the drive over as the lady was fantastic, She talked the whole way through the scan so we knew what we were looking at. She made sure she showed us the little feet with toes & the hand with fingers.
Of course Bambi was hiding the whole scan & wouldn't stop moving so it was hard to get decent pics but she did her best.
Overall it was fantastic & i couldn't wipe the smile off my face.
Bambi is measuring a week behind but again i'm not worried as i don't do small babies so i'm sure s/he will start growing soon
Congrats on another beautiful princess! Bet they are going to gave such fun together.
Things are good here, morning sickness is making toddler antics fun but I've explained to her that I'm not feeling well which she seems to understand, let's me have time out on the couch every so often. DP had a job interview for something he is really keen for yesterday, said we should hear today. He is at work but keeping his phone very close haha. Really hope it works out, fingers crossed.
Great news JF hope he gets the jobs
It's nice having them a bit older so they can understand your sick & need to rest.
I'm still getting M/S every other day here & both girls let me lay down & watch cartoons with them.
As long as i have some snack foods & water for them they are happy
Thanks MG so excited. I always thought i'd end up with 3 girls & i did
he got the job and starts tomorrow (current job is casual and he only has to give 4hrs notice luckily)! Next on the to-do list is finding a rental, eek... moving in the right direction
We had a breakthrough with sleeping at last. DD went to sleep by herself after we left her to it. We put her to bed, she was wide awake and we left and I kept checking on her, and then she was just asleep. The coolest bit is we weren't at home. We stayed in Mildura over the weekend and she did it there! She could see us through the window - the shape of the house we stayed in meant that she could look through one window and see into another where we were sitting, but she's never ever done that before. We've lost our sleeping through the night pattern - she was going well and then I started lifting her back into our bed while I was still sleeping, so we've gone backwards, but I'm happy to start again. Persistence right?!
hi all! sorry I've been MIA...I've been a bit busy with my new baby girl! Elizabeth Joy was born on the 12th May at 6:43pm, weighing in at 9lb11oz (4.390kg), length 52cm, head circ 37cm. Labour and birth was awesome (read about it via link in my sig if u're interested), natural and drug free and nice and quick! I left hospital 3.5 hours after birth and recovering well. Elizabeth is such a darling, and Susie is a fantastic big sister! Only 2 signs of her struggling with the new addition - she isn't gonig to sleep as well as she used to at night, often takes 1.5 - 2 hours of her coming out and being put back to bed to get her to sleep, and the last 2 weeks at swimming lesson she hasn't wanted to do anything she's told, only wants to play in the water! She loves her little sister though and likes to say 'hello Lizzie' and give her a kiss and a cuddle! I'm supposed to be doing housework so I better get back to it (Dh took Susie to playgroup and being its his last day home before going back to work I thought I would take the opportunity to do some stuff around the house so it's nice at least for today so he's not stressed about it before he goes back!!)
Back from the Dr, Even he said she is getting worse. It's nice to know it's not just my imagination.
Anyways she was sent off for a whooping cough swab & what a joy that was.
She also has more Ab's for her chest infection & a ventolin to help with her cough as it sounds Asthmatic now.
Can't believe how expensive everything was to buy!
Poor little M was up at 11pm last night coughing & she didn't stop till 5am this morning when she finally feel asleep.
Everytime she would breath she'd cough it was horrible.
Today she's been coughing all day with 5mins breaks in between attacks.
