Problems with dairy for 8 month old

    Hi,

I have been slowly introducing 'allergy' foods to Chloe and she is going really well. She is 8 months old. However, she always vomits up yoghurt. I thought it was a dairy thing but I have tried her with a little cows milk in her cereal and she is fine. I have tried several different types of yoghurt (normal natural yoghurt and a vanilla one for babies). Does anyone know why she would vomit up yoghurt but be ok with milk?

    Thanks for your help!!

Im not sure why yoghurt would be more of a problem, maybe its the quantity of dairy? but I found out today u can now get some A2 yoghurt, dunno if that would be better

    Hey Fuzzy,

If you want to you can try seeing an allergy dietician for more advice and suggestions. I didn't know they existed until recently.

I am seeing an allergy dietician for my DS as he might be allergic to something in my BM and I'm also discussing how to introduce solids, particularly the foods he is more at risk of allergic reaction.

I would have thought if the problem was diary it would have come up a lot sooner. My Ds is about 3 months old and they are already questioning it. I could be wrong as I'm definitely not an expert and only just starting my journey with foods. Maybe it's another ingredient in the yogurt.

MrsC - mine is a dietician who is semi-retired, she used to be (i think) the head dietician at the RCH. My paediatrician gave me a sheet with some allergy specialist dieticians and recommended the one that I'm seeing. She's quite cheap so if you ever need the details just PM me, but it sounds like you've got good support.
