    What are the chances....?

Has anyone been told they were having a girl and then had a boy baby, or vice versa?

Im wondering if its common ? The u/s techs usually only say 95% sure or something...

We have been told bubs a girl, and have bought pink stuff accordingly So now im stressing thinking what if a boy comes out instead? Ill be shocked thats for sure !

    What are the chances?

It is more common than you would think for them to tell you the wrong sex!!

I have looked after many woman who have been told wrong sex and had everything bought for opposite sex.

There was a mum in my mothers group who got told she was having a boy and she had a girl. I was told identifying gender is only about 85% accurate and that can vary depending on the experience of the operator, clarity of the pictures, and positioning of the baby.

A lady who i used to work with was expecting a grandaughter (her daughters child) and it came out as a grandson!!

We were told that our #3 was 'definatley a girl'. When we were told to expect a girl i said to the sonographer 'ok then chances are when he/she is born it'll be a girl!!' and he said 'it'll definately be a girl??' (because i am aware that they aren't always 100% correct). DH i don't think ever was 100% convinced and needed to see for himself before he'd accept it but i always felt she was a girl anyway.

Hopefully your sonographer knows what they're doing and what they saw and it's right!!

We found out with DD that she was a girl at the 20 wk scan and we asked to be shown proof and they showed us the '3 lines' on the scan.... so she was definitely a girl!!! (you know what I mean by the 3 lines? lol)....
we also again had a 3d/4d scan at 32weeks (for fun) and that also confirmed she was a girl still thankfully!!!!

This time around we don't know what we're having, nice surprise.

My advice - if you're worried, get a 3d/4d scan done around 32-34 weeks just for fun and ask to get it confirmed again!!!

We were told girl early on at 19 and 20 weeks so went mad on pink stuff. Then at 35 weeks we were told boy and the bottom fell out of my world!
We had another scan done that said girl again but until she was actually here I didnt know who to believe.
So although we were told the right thing all along they do get it wrong.

My friends daughter was told she was having a little boy all the way through her pregnancy (3 scans) and along came little Emma!

I believe they get it right more than they get it wrong but it does happen.
