    Recommend Me A Refrigerator

Okay the fridge we have is about 9year old and works a charm.

EXCEPT when we moved in September/October last year, FIL broke a shelf trying to clean it (even though we told him that the shelf wasn't removable he insisted it was )and now the vegetable compartment is nothing more than a storage tub. It doesn't keep anything fresh, and we have to be careful what we buy because most stuff will spoil within a day

So basically I'm getting sick of buying fresh fruit and vegetables and them spoiling very quickly. So can you recommend me a good fridge? It doesn't need to be massive (there are 2 adults, 1 toddler and baby on the way) and I don't really care for water dispenser etc

Personally I think FIL should buy us one considering he broke it, but I don't like my chances of that happening

have you tried just getting a new shelf for it? I'm sure you could ring a white goods/appliance stockist/repair place and they'd be able to get one in for you...

    cheaper than a new fridge

That would be practical helle... not sure though given that it is a 'fixed' shelf and that I think it actually creates a seal to the compartment itms....

Meh I wouldn't mind a new fridge, and it's not like we can't afford it, I just can't be bothered looking and wondering what other people have

We have this one - 541 Litre Capacity White Side by Side Refrigerator - SRS538HW - Side By Side - Refrigerator | SAMSUNG

Decent fridge really, the little door thing in the front is handy for cold water/milk/juice and there's plenty of room inside both fridge and freezer (even for the insane amounts I try to cram in there). Fits in most standard fridge recesses too, which is a bonus - a lot of bigger fridges don't fit, especially in older houses.

I second Tupperware. Expensive yes, cheaper then a new fridge though and when I used to do Tupperware most people got rid of the veg compartment in favor of the fridgesmart!!!
