Washing baby clothes, do I need to separate darks and lights?

Or can I throw them all in together? I'm trying to get on top of washing some of Isla's clothes, the loads I'm wanting to do are all pre-loved from friends and family, eBay etc etc, not any of the new ones, so they've all been washed many time before and I *assume* won't run? Was just planning on doing a normal wash (cold, we don't use hot)...should I do it on delicates or just normal? We have a brand new machine so it's not really rough or anything like that. DH normally handles the washing lol!

They should be all ok on cold, I wash the kids stuff on gentle usually because babies clothes are washed a lot and it just made sense to me. I only separate ds's clothes now because they are darker and blue and don't want to chance it but all the girls things are washed together.

Yeah, when it comes to kids' clothes I chuck everything in together I've never had an item run to date (knock on wood lol, now I bet the next thing I buy will stain everything else in the wash hehehehe).

Jack's all get chucked in together. I wash our clothes separate to his, mostly because it annoys me sorting out his teeny tiny clothes from our big ones.

I wash DS's light clothes with our own light clothes and his dark ones with our dark ones on a regular cycle. I pretty much wash everything with the baby wash detergent! lol. I only do our towels/socks separately with the regular detergent.

Mkay well just chucked everything in together so fingers crossed everything comes out the right colour! Put it on a delicate wash, everything just looks so itty bitty and small!

I too seperate lights from darks - especially if there is red clothes - i just don't trust it...we're not a huge fan of pink on boys. If I only have a few items i'll combine (even if there is dark blues and black- just never the red item - regardless of how many times they've been washed). I also now wash their clothes in with mine. When DS1 first arrived I would only ever wash his clothes on their own and in baby detergent....by DS2 - it started for the first weeks with DS1's clothes only - but after a few weeks I ended up combining mine in (and occassionally DH's - but he gets grubby and works with trucks - so his gets collected all together for a load of their own). In the end you'll end up doing whatever is easiest and will get the job done (well that's how it is with me ).

The only way I separate DD2's clothes is from ours. I wash all of hers with my breastpads, and everything else.. .have this weird thing about our sock jubes getting on her untainted baby clothes... and my breastpads! lol

It never even occurred to me to wash her clothes with ours Ours are so huge and bulky, hers are so tiny and cute...they'd get lost in DH's jeans or something haha.

Everything goes in together - except DH's work clothes - unless it is new and red.... But we have a non-colourfast cycle and I haven't had any issues yet.

We always washed bubbies clothes separately and used either lux or lamolin (I LOVE the smell of lamolin)
