    Question Tell Me I'm Crazy

I have 5years experience in the field, yet I am thinking of doing the course so I can have the piece of paper to say I know what I'm on about (bookkeeping for anyone interested). The course can be completed over 2 years online...

But I have an almost 1 year old, and I'm currently 15weeks pregnant. Am I crazy for wanting to take it on now?

Thanks MN... although at the moment I struggle to achieve 3 meals a day and a shower
I don't want to start and then get part way through and realise I've taken on too much. But my thinking is if I can get a big chunk done now before bub comes along, it will be less juggling... yes??

Not crazy if you want to stay in the field, especially given recent changes to the regulations. My understanding is only BAS registered bookkeepers can now legally do BAS and I assume you need a piece of paper to be registered, though dont quote me on that.

My kids are 2 and 4 so older. I have 10 yearsexperience in my field (social work) but am studying online for the piece of paper. Well worth it. You could always start it and then drop back to a single unit if it gets too much.
    Good luck

    Thanks for the support

Tashybabe - if you work under an accountant you can prepare a bas, you just can't lodge it... At least that's what our accountant told us, but he could have just been getting out of work cos I did such an awesome job at making sure everything was perfect

I'll have a look more at the course work, I mean hopefully most of it should still be fresh in my mind so shouldn't require too much effort... Only thing I'm not keen on is it uses MYOB, I know it and can use it, but much prefer another system... I'm an accounting software snob
