    A Poo Question???

So DD's poo's are so explosive. Everytime I do one they come out the sides, out the top, out the back. It is always over everything and I have to completely change her each and every poo. So when I open the nappy I always expect that there will be this massive poo there and its just overflow but it's always only a really little poo. The majority of it ends up out the back and sides rather than in the nappy because it is so explosive, it always sounds like a massive big fart. Is this normal??? My boys never did that. Does it indicate an unsettled belly?? Her poo colour is anywhere from green to a burnt orange, it's never the same. She is a breastfed baby. She's just so unsettled I am starting to wonder if its from her digestive system.

DH and I always used to joke about how different DD's poos were from one to the next, even though the only thing that went in was breast milk for 6 straight months. My DD was quite similar, maybe not as explosive, but you could hear her let go a mile away. It wasn't until around 8 months (we did BLS) when the texture finally got more solid as she started actually swallowing food. I had to stop myself texting DH at work to tell him her poo had changed

With that said though, if you think something isn't right, maybe you could talk to your health nurse or GP?

lol thanks, maybe it is normal then. My boys were bottlefed so they did one big paste like poo a day. This whole breastfed poo is new to me lol.

DS is the same. Sometimes there is not much poo at all but it somehow still manages to escape up his back! Colour and smell also varies. As for being unsettled I would agree with taking her to your child health nurse or Dr.

My SIL has a 2 month old DS and he has very explosive poos too! I can hear them a mile away! He has the witching hours between 10 pm and 2 am, but generally he's pretty settled. She does like extremely spicy foods so I thought maybe that's why he was unsettled at the later time of the night. And she gives him EBM.
Hope your little one settles soon
