I just LOVE the name Max! Even though my parent's cat was a Max DH hates it so I'll never get to use it.

There is a boy at mothers group called Max. It suits him. I don't see it as a dogs name.

Not to me, I have an Uncle Max and I also have a little boy Max at work. Max really suits him, so I like it.

Is it going to be Max or Maxwell/Maximus or something longer for the middle name. If it's just Max, I'd go for a several syllable name to go with it, like Max Tobias, if it's Maxwell or a longer name, I'd go something shorter for the middle name. Maybe Maxwell Blair.

I love the name - my nephew is called Max (full name is Maximus on his birth certificate). I think it is a gorgeous boys name and doesn't make me think about a dog at all.

My friend has a maximillian who gets maxie for short. Personally its not for me as its just not my style of name and yes my dad had a dog called max, but im very much of the who cares what everyone else thinks school. I cant tell you how many Peppar haters we had but I dont give a crap! We love it so if you want it do it!

Hmm, I do know a dog called Max. It's kind of a cute name, but not one I would ever use. To me it's like the Harry's of the world. It can really suit some kids, but I don't particularly like it..

Not sure about middle names though. Any names of significance from your family or anything that might go with it?

I think Max is great - a good strong masculine name that is super easy to spell. We had it on our list for DD is she was a boy.

    I love the name Max!!
But I am biased I have a Maxx (yes double x...his dad choose the spelling, the extra x to give him extra strength through the NICU)
My dads middle name is Maxwell. I have never meet a dog named Max.
And it really suits my little man.

Maxwell Lucas was second on our name list, just didn't suit him though It's an awesome name, it can go from Maxy to Max to Maxwell, it's a lifetime kind of name!

I like Max. I don't think of it as a dog's name at all! I know a few little boys called Max- i just think of it as a boy's name I actually thought it was a fairly conservative name like Ben or Sam so it never occured to me it would be a difficult name for people to accept.

I think it could go with a zillion middle names- I'd be inclined to pick a name that means something to you like a family name, place name or attribute name.
