    Should I keep him home?

Moo has a cough but is otherwise very happy, should I keep him home from playgroup? If he was looking or acting sick I wouldn't hesitate but he seems fine besides the cough

No, I don't think a little cough warrants you to stay home.

I would. Only because everytime DD goes to playgroup, she gets sick. Might not be much for him but might be for another little kid.

    *Sigh*
    It's a tough call, isn't it.
I have immune deficient children in my extended family. They are continually getting sick because of interactions with other kids.
But even so, I wouldn't isolate myself or my kids for the sake of a cough. If they have a temp or are very sad with colds, we stay home (as you've said in the OP). Otherwise, I'd say let's get out of here and endeavour to cover his mouth as much as possible when he coughs. Colds are a fact of life and I personally wouldn't (and couldn't) keep my kids home whenever they have one. (Which is all bloody winter in reality.)

My DD has had a cough for over a month, some days it's just a tickle, some days it's a bit more. Always dry and passes quickly. On and off some nights too. Doc has checked it a couple of times, and it's just a cough that's hanging around. We've still gone to Kindy as I would have had a whole month off if we hadn't, and she's been really well and happy otherwise. It's a tough decision though, I understand!

Thanks everyone for your input - ended up just staying home as his nose started running like a tap

Our mothers group have allready discussed and came to conclusion that as long as no fever, gastro or of course anything infectious we will still attend as in winter half the kids have colds every 2nd week so we would never see each other if we all stayed away with colds!!!
