    First hospital admission for winter

My gorgeous girl has been admitted to hospital for asthma
I was hoping for a hospital free winter but not to be.
Hopefully the stay will just be a short one and a little help and rest in hospital is what she needs.

Hugs hunny. How are you going to manage all the other kids and be with DD. Being single does have it's drawbacks sometimes. Hope she doesn't have to be in long.

hope your DD is feeling better soon

don't forget to get some rest yourself, you don't want to run yourself into the ground

She is a little better this morning, she was on o2 last night it was taken off about 8am this morning.
We will be in here tonight also, if she can stay of o2 we can go home tomorrow...so it is wait and see.
Her pead knows her well and we have been seeing him sine she has come home...he is really nice and trust him.
She still has a wheeze and cough but they are trying to stretch her ventolin out to two hours to see how she copes.
The nurses love that she knows what she is doing, she lifts up her top to let them hear her chest and she pops the o2 prop on her finger...she is an old pro (kind of sad as well as cute)

My Ex has been good he took her in last night while I stayed with the others, I skyped with the doctor and nurse to pass on her history and what has been happening so I felt I was still helping.

hope your DD is feeling better soon

    Thanks Sloane.
My ex had his laptop and mobile internet...the staff thought it was great, not something they usually do.
My DD2 loved being able to see her sister...they are only 11mths apart and very close they don't like being apart.

She is sleeping now, the clown doctors came in earlier and brought a bit of cheer with them. It is such a great idea for the kids.

I am really hoping this is our one and only admission for winter...fingers crossed. (this is her 8th or 9th admission since she came home...and most of them were min a week )

So now to add to the trauma of the asthma she just split open above her eye.
I had just left when my ex got there to cover tonight and she was playing near the window and cracked her head on the ledge.
Lucky she was in hospital (double barrel there) she has been checked out by the doctors and nurses and it has been super glued and bandaged.

Poor chicken, I hope she's feeling better soon. I hate winter & the bugs it brings.
    Take care of you too

Thank you for the support and get well wishes
    Woohoo!!! Home today
She lasted last night with out the oxygen and we have her ventolin spread out to 3 hourly!!
So she has the prednisolone (steroids) for 2 more days, 3-4 hourly ventolin and her usual preventor (flixotide 2 puffs twice daily)
He said that he totally trust my judgement and I do a wonderful job handling it and I know when to bring her in...which is reassuring to hear.
We will follow up in a few weeks with an appointment.
He said he would love to be able to say that she won't be admitted again this winter but given her history there is a high possibility she will
I am hoping she can prove him wrong.

My little princess is still sick
She was still sick and coughing so hard she turned dusky around the mouth and threw up so three days after getting out of hospital I went back to my GP and pushed for a chest xray.
It turns out she has at least bronchitis, very possible pneumonia
It has been nearly 3 weeks now and she still has a horrid cough, lots of phlem and snot.
Her appetite is almost non existent and she has lost over 1.5kg...just when we got her over 11kg she drops back to under 10kg.
It is hard watching her sick for so long.
Not a good start to winter and her lungs will take some time to recover.
