    Restaurant reccomendations

Not sure if this in the right area so mods feel free to move!

Dh and I are planning to go for lunch just the TWO of us the first weekend in July. We love good food and being a chef by trade I really LOVE it! It has being so long since we have being out for an adult meal and would love some recommendations. City area preferable and day trading as it's for lunch. We love all cusines especially Asian!

    TIA

Bistro Vu (attached to Vue De monde, in fact food comes out of the same kitchen just goes in different directions and not quite as refined as Vue De Monde)
The Longrain..just had a beautiful dinner there on Saturday night. Can't book, have to turn up and see how you go. It's in Little Bourke St near Little Malaysia.
Flower Drum..been twice, it is beautiful!!!!
Mamasita is the new MUST here in Melbourne, another one you can't book and have to take your chances, it's Mexican, not ordinary Mexican, apparently the corn is to die for.
Pure South in Southbank. My SIL has been a couple of times and said the food is beautiful, it's all Tassie produce I think.

I just realised you said lunch, you may be able to book the ones I said that don't take bookings if you are going for lunch?

If you like Indonesian food, Blok M on Little Bourke St is AMAZING! DP said it's the closest he's had to authentic Indonesian food since he was Indonesia. We figured it was a good sign when DP and I walked in and we were the only non Indonesians there. My favourite dish there is probably the baby squid satay.
Mamasita (which Heather mentioned) on Collins St is also amazing! I was so sad I couldn't fit more food in belly! The corn was fantastic and DP is still talking about the ox cheek and veal tongue taco 2 months later. My favourite was probably the de pollo tostaditas.
