Question Home made baptism gift HELP please!

Help! I want to make a gift for our friends gorgoeus little girl, she is being baptised this weekend, but I am completely stumped as to what to make, any usggestions would be great, along the sewing line of things would be great

I wasn't sure a little outfit (dress) would be appropriate IYKWIM

I think that would be fine. There is no hard & fast rule to gifts for baptisms. Alot of people think you need to buy something religious but I don't think that needs to be the case at all.

One of the nicest gifts I received after having DD was a friend who made her the following:

3 bought singlets, one had her initial sewn on the front, one a birdie cut out of flowery material, and one with 3 flowery buttons sewn down the front. She also made her a drawstring bag, flowery on the inside, pinky/purple on the outside and her name sewn on in big letters across the front. It is so handy - fits about 4 nappies, a slim wipe case and nappy sacks in it. I use it all the time still, and know she will love using it when she's older. Lots of people comment on how sweet it is too.

Maybe something personalised along those kind of lines?

Oh thankyou so much for replying, I really have had no idea it has been a long time since I have been to one and this is my first Catholic one

I had thought of a blanket as well, but when she was born I put together a giftbox which included a couple of appliqued suits, a small blaket for the car, muslin wraps and bibs.

I can easily make a bag with her name on it, as I have made a few, the singlets sounds sooo cute!

Thankyou, I will happily sew something up tomorrow and continue on my year of gifting predominantly home made gifts instead of bought

the singlets and bag sound gorgeous!

I was going to say a blanket, but I guess they would take a loooooooooooooong time.
