    Tafe & Centrelink question

I was thinking about going to Tafe next semester. the course i was looking at was an accounts administration course which goes for 6 months. per semester this course costs $352. when i called Tafe i asked if i was entitled to the concession and she said if i was getting the maximum rate of FTB part A, i was entitled to it. currently i am getting $306 a fortnight, and from what i can work out, im pretty sure the maximum rate is around $312. (this is all for 2 kids by the way) so what does that mean, that for the sake of $6 a fortnight, i have to pay $352 (which i just can't afford right now) instead of $52?? how is that fair!? and is there any way around this?? otherwise i guess i'll just have to stay at home uneducated

basically if you have a health care card issued with your FTB, you're eligible. if not, then you're not

the maximum rate of ftba is actually around 161 per fortnight per child, so you're sitting about $15 under the cut off. this may change if your income hasn't changed come july 1 as the new income thresholds for FTB will come in at that point (at the moment they haven't been released)
