its actually illegal to put a child under 6 months in a forward facing position...move her from teh capsule to the seat but in rearward facing position for as long as possible i.e 12 months
Do you go by weight before age when it comes to going into the next stage of car seats?
Our boys went into birth to 4 years car seats and we turned them to a sitting position at 6 months of age regardless of weight.
With Ella we hired a capsule and brought a 6mths to 7 years car seat which is 8kgs to 26kgs now do we wait until she reaches 6mths before we put her in it or go by weight what if she reaches 8kgs but isnt ready to go into the sitting position.
The seat doe's recline back so it is not completly upright for younger babies.
I just think Ella will reach 8kgs before 6 mths.

I'm pretty sure the capsules can go up to 9kg. So I'd be moving her up once she hits that mark.
The new law is weight AND age.....so they have to have reached both of those milestones to be turned forward facing, so bubs had to be 8 kilos AND 6 months old to turn around....... If the capsule you have hired will go to 12 kgs I would strongly advise keeping bubs in that until they hit 12 kgs or get too tall for the capsule. The minimum is just that, a minimum......Connor is 16 months, about 10.5 kilos and still rearfacing...we won't be turning him until he hits the 12 kilo mark that the seat is rated to....it is just not safe to have small children forward facing in cars. If we could legally get the European seat here that allow rear facing until 4 years of age he would stay rear facing till then, unfortunately we have very outdated car seat standards in this country, some of the most lenient in the world unfortunately.
Ok i will keep her in the capsule until she is to big for it as it only goe's up to 9kg but i dont think she will outgrow it by 6mths.
Our 6mth-7yr car seat is not designed to go reward facing only forward facing and either reclined or upright.
if thats the case then id go and get on (or borrow one) that is rearfacing
