I went on Cup weekend, so early Nov (can't see if you're from Melb sorry) and it was great! Don't fret about the weather.

We stayed at Outrigger on the Lagoon - would highly recommend it. They have a great kids prison ( kids club!) and we saw stacks of kids there.

Have a great time... I loved Fiji!

I've been to Fiji 3 times, my last time we stayed at Radisson Denarau Island for our Honeymoon in January 2008 and had a Category 3 Cyclone on our 2nd day.. Aside from the hotel not providing too much indoor entertainment and the weather not really being beach worthy, we barely noticed, we had our own indoor er, activities going on, as I said, we were on our honeymoon But the resorts are extremely well prepared for cyclones, we never felt unsafe whatsoever, we were more scared being in Townsville for Cyclone Larry.. Chances are you won't see a cyclone during your stay and it will be the total island bliss Fiji is famous for! My other 2 trips there I had nothing but brilliant sunshine as most Fiji holidays are! Try not to worry, unlikely you'll see a cyclone but if so, they're used to them, well prepared for them, they know what they're doing and if there's any doubt whatsoever about the severity of one you'll be evacuated well before any of the action starts happening.. Enjoy!!

I went late September and it was fine. I remember feeling worried when I went to Vanuatu in cyclone season, and low and behold, one went through while we were there, but it was way off the island we stayed at - they are often out at sea. They are very used to it there and very prepared. Nothing to worry about at all
