    laundry plumbing and appliances

I hope this is the right spot. But we are in a bit of a pickle...
I also hope I explain this right...
so, in our laundry we had 1 washing machine connected to the tap. worked perfectly and has the for 2 years we have had it in 3 different house.
Yesterday we bought a dishwasher (yay!) but there is no space in the kitchen for it so until we get a dude in to cut out a cupboard and make and extra tap and install it properly into the kitchen (if we ever do) we have put it in the laundry. we got a double adapter type thing but for a tap, so our cold water tap in the laundry now has the washing machine and the dishwasher attached to it. I have talked to a few people who said they did the same thing and never had any problems.
well here is our problem now...we used our dishwasher and it worked perfectly. we then went to use our washing machine and it is dead. you turn it on and it screams at you and you cant do anything but turn off the power to stop it screaming. we looked in the manual and it said to check its level. we did that, didnt help. i've looked out the net and it said its telling us "means the motor controller module detected a fault in the cold water proportional valve." and to fix it we have to open it up and play withthings... I dont expect people to be able to help us with that...unless someone actually does know?? cause that would be amazing.
but now, we tried to disconnect the thing and our tap wont turn off...DH recons he has turned it all the way off but its still ****ing out water and there is water EVERYWHERE in our laundry.

does anyone have any ideas or tips or help in any of this?? our machine is stil under warranty, but i cant call them til Tuesday, or any other tradesman really.

its kind of urgent too...because in an unrelated extra problem... we are at the stage in the mouse plague where dead mice are being found around the house (not in traps) and one was in DH undie draw... so basically he has no clean undies cause he wanted to wash all his ones in his draw before he wears them (which is understandable).

    TIA

Thanks Bern! I just had a search then. unfortuantly everytime i type stuff in all it gives me is ads for renting the washing machine, and then shows search results for dancing washing machines etc.. and it goes "results for" and has crossed out model numbers and whatnot... so i dont think there is anything on there =(
