On our most recent camping trip, we backed our campervan into a short pole and damaged the rear end. The panel needs to be replaced and can be done quite cheaply, but we'll need to give it a coat of paint. While we're painting that, we thought we'd give the entire van a going over - it badly needs it.

Do we have to somehow remove the old paint or can we paint over it without doing anything else to it? It's cream with a brown stripe and we plan on keeping it the same (to keep it in line with its age and style). The camper is around 40 years old, so the old thin metal sides, nothing plastic.

Cheers
