I have been thinking about my BFF and her pregnancy etc. She knows we will be throwing her a baby shower but that is still a looooong way off .... it actually gives me plenty of time to work on A cake/dessert idea I have ...
I am sure either her mother or her MIL would like to make the offical Baby Shower cake. but I had an idea for a pav.
IS it possible to make a pav in the shape of a bassinette?
I was thinking if I made a thick oval base, then made another meringue in a circle shape that could be cut in half.
You'd fill the oval base with your cream then use the cream to help hold the "hood" for tha basinette, fruit could be used to make up the blanket and you COULD probably attach some fruit or candy on the hood?
Am I delusional? I have never made a pav before so I have heaps of time (and with 5 chooks heaps of eggs) to play and try to get it right.
IS it possible?
If BFF doesn't like the idea thats fine I might use it for the next baby's baptism cake!
It sounds great and i can't see why it wouldn't work, you can just hollow out a huge circled meringue.
I'm wondering if there is any way you could pipe the meringue mixture onto the outside of a ball shaped tin to make it look like a 'weave' and then cook it and cut it to fit? (have PM'd you a link)
